Hi, I’m Treza Gallogly, founder of Swansong, and Chair of the End of Life Doula Alliance Aotearoa. I am a trained EOL Doula, and have been providing these services for around 3 years, based in Auckland, but willing to work wherever I’m needed.  I support those who are on their final journey, and their loved ones, by providing all-round holistic care – i.e. doing whatever’s needed for that person, wherever they’re at on their journey – spiritual, emotional, cultural, practical and social care.

I am passionate about empowering those who wish to die at home, improving understanding and acceptance of death in our homes and communities, and supporting the growth of Doulas to help fill the gaps in palliative and end of life care with the increasing demands on the health system.

If you don’t know where to start, reach out and we can talk about what your needs are, and how I can best help.

Testimonials

Treza made an exquisite connection with *** that allowed her to not only offer pragmatic, practical care and advocacy during a time of high emotion and turmoil, but compassionately and lovingly walk beside her on her final journey.

I saw that Treza listened deeply and responded thoughtfully. Fear and sorrow, joy and peace, wants and needs were all acknowledged and celebrated as being worthy life experiences. Through her deep reflective listening and advocacy, Treza supported *** to understand and make the decisions that were required regarding her initial medical care, her palliative care and eventually, her end of life wishes.

Never intrusive, Treza joined with family and friends in enveloping *** with love and support in her final days and hours. Treza’s natural warmth, her nursing and advocacy expertise, her ability to liaise with the medical staff about ***’s evolving condition and her intuitive wisdom and practical implementation regarding ***’s needs, particularly when they could no longer be voiced, clearly eased ***’s body and mind. “You’ve always got my back” was one final acknowledgement from *** herself. It speaks to how safe she felt with Treza at her side.
